In the animated film Wall-e, I think the backgrounds used are really interesting and fit with the story line in the film, because at the start of the film there is no dialog so the visual storytelling has to be really clear, at first you can tell the world that is being shown has no one living on it and it looked destroyed. It looks as if the backgrounds have been painted which are really effective throughout this film as they make the buildings in front look really detailed and stand out more.
